Wind Energy for the Future

Wind energy is a very old source of energy used as early as 5000 BC. But now, wind energy comes back to attempt to become a new, huge, cleaner and renewable source of energy to replace the other nonrenewable and polluting sources of energy like coal and oil. Wind energy is now using giant wind turbines to produce energy. The process for wind energy is wind makes the blades spin which spins the turbine and then a generator produces the electricity. Germany has taken advantage of this opportunity there are currently producing the most wind energy in the world. Even though Germany is producing the most wind energy, Denmark has the highest wind energy percentage. The USA has the Cape Cod wind project which is going to be a huge offshore wind farm which will produce a huge amount of energy for the USA. Even with all this progress wind energy is still advancing, wind turbines used to only produce around a 100 kilowatts of power now thanks to technology winds turbines know can produce near 1.6 megawatts. I think wind power is going to play a huge role in the future of clean    energy.

  2. I agree, it doesn't give off pollution and it's a unlimited amount so we have it all the time.

  3. I think that energy wind is bad because the costs of natural gas or coal. It causes environmental hazards with the inturfurence or birds migration. If windy he wind goes to fast or to slow it could stop the turbines and not create any energy.
